Welcome To My Blog

Goodmorning chat. :)

This website is long overdue, and I hope everyone who finds themselves here enjoys their time here. I am still under construction, so keep checking back for more, and join the Discord at the bottom of the page to keep in touch and stay updated. Plus, make some new friends.

I really miss old school, early 2000’s Gossip Blogs. Anybody else? As much as I love social media, I really feel like old school blogging is dead. Social Media is an incredible tool to express ourselves, share updates in real time, and make friends, but it feels like a digital black hole most of the time. Maybe that’s because my Instagram was hacked back in 2016 and it took over 2 years to get it back (thanks Gruen). But, I guess that goes for the internet as a whole.

There has been an attack on our attention span for years, and a lot of people find it harder and harder to sit through long form videos or read articles, which leads to uninformed opinions, unnecessary arguments, lack of education and ultimately living in an altered state of reality. You may feel like you’re gathering a lot of information at once whilst scrolling though max. 30 second videos, but in reality you’re just experiencing a classic dopamine rush, and your brain can’t really hold onto all of that information.

You experience a rush of dopamine every time you receive a text, accomplish a goal, check something off of our to-do list, and with our attention spans being satisfied with minimal information, you’re experiencing a dopamine rush every time you watch a short form video. It’s addictive. Alcoholic’s experience it when they drink, drug addict’s experience it when they receive their next fix, and gambler’s experience it when they spend money. I used to experience it every time I took a picture with a celebrity.

There are synthetic versions of dopamine that people seek when they aren’t satisfied, like Adderall. It’s natural, and everybody needs dopamine. But, it’s how you train your body to release it, and when, that really matters. That’s something I’m still figuring out and it is something I have been in control of, and not in control of, and I think it’s something we need to constantly be aware of as we change sceneries, lifestyles, jobs, and routines.

In the midst of my Wellness journey back in 2018, I reached out to my friend Caitlin asking her for some mental/physical health advice as she is very open on social media with her journey. She referred me to her doctor, Dr. Daniel Amen, a Brain Doctor. This was one of the curveball moments in my wellness journey that really made a difference.

She referred me to his website to take a Brain Assessment test which is an online assessment that does it’s best to mimic a professional Brain Spect scan, which is something the average person definitely could not afford, so this test is incredible. My Brain Type was 8 and my Brain Fit Score was 47, which is my lucky number. It gave me a detailed PDF of the foods and supplements I should be eating according to my Brain Type and Lifestyle. I became obsessed with Daniel and Tana (Daniel’s Wife) Amen’s video content and literature about Brain and Body health and have had an amazing journey in Neurological and Physical health without having to depend on any of the supplements that my doctors have tried to prescribe me over time.

I have been on my wellness journey since early 2018, starting with clean food, holistic remedies, and non-toxic beauty and hygeine products. This is another topic that will have you invested for years. Once you realize what you have been putting in and on your body your whole life, it is a natural response to feel shame or embarrassment, or feel like you let yourself down. It’s important to remember that it is not your fault. We are all just victims of a broken system, and once you find that out, you’ve basically been assigned a new mission to spread the word, and save the people you love from the average, toxic lifestyle that most people unwillingly live.

Over time, I learned that the feminine hygeine products I was using were extremely toxic and drenched in bleach, along with pretty much all of the “down there” care such as toilet paper, etc. that is used in 9/10 common places and households. I learned that my favorite chips have 3 ingredients in them that cause ADHD. I learned that my sunscreen that is marketed towards Females had multiple products that attack a Woman’s reproductive system. I learned that most energy drinks that I see Influencers promoting on Instagram allegedly have 3x the amount of human feces than a human being is even supposed to consume in a day. I’d rather have none.

I learned things that will have my head spinning for the rest of my life, and have me hanging out at the grocery store for hours on end, reading every label and ingredient. It gave me an idea for a series called “Stalking The Shelves” since the employees started asking if I was okay after awhile, as the amount of time I spend on each aisle was seriously genuinely concerning.

I am excited to share more of my Wellness and Beauty journey’s with a dedicated blog for each.

I have had a few physical health issues over the years which have prevented me from going to any events, or really doing much of anything I used to do, however a lot of improvement has been made, and I’m really hoping I can take care of the rest sooner than later.

My version of hell is dying and having to meet and shake hands with the person I could have been. The best version of myself.

Life is like a video game. We have been watched, weighed, measured and monitored since birth. Every mission you accomplish will open another part of the map. Don’t be afraid to fail. Keep trying. You’ll get it eventually. :)

Bye for now.

xoxo
